Darren Sammy 55 against Chittagong Vikings, match winning knock

It took West Indian master blaster Darren Sammy some games to warm up in the BPL 2016. Now the Rajshahi Kings captain is back in the old mood and today he showed his real powers to the Chittagong Vikings in the first knock out of the BPL 2016.

Darren Sammy stroked a blistering 55 runs. In his innings he scored 7 fours and 2 sixes. Now 40 of his 55 runs came in the form of boundaries. Also Sammy spent some good time on the crease as well. His innings gave the match to the Rajshahi Kings.

In the past we have seen him hitting huge scores on the same number of balls but at the moment we all know Sammy is making a comeback in the T20 cricket again. In fact he has not played cricket for a good period of time and hence it would take him time to get back into proper rhythm.

As for his boundaries, they were huge. The sixes he smashed were gigantic. The first one was on the leg side. This was a length ball from the bowler and Sammy just picked it up on the leg side. Now this was not an easy shot to execute but Sammy did it easily.

The next one was over long on and this was a gift ball for Sammy. A nice juicy half volley and Sammy does not misses these kind of deliveries. He just heaved it over the boundary easily. The power behind the shot was enough to take it over the ropes.

Sammy was heating up and the Chittagong bowlers just failed to stop him. Against the spinner they thought they had a chance when Sammy went down the track and hit the ball to long off. This was a one handed shot as Sammy lost the grip of the left hand. But this proved out to be the longest hit. Now with one hand such a big six is only Sammy can hit. There were a lot of wickets down for Rajshahi Kings when Sammy walked in. Now his team has won the first semi final and they are into the finals now thanks to his bat.
