Ashwin and Anderson tussle, 4th Test India England

James Anderson has made new enemies in India as his press conference from yesterday has not been appreciated by team India at all. Anderson targeted Indian captain Kohli saying that he plays well in India only because the wickets suits him.

Today when Anderson came out to bat Ashwin straight away got busy with him. There was a war of words seen between the two. At the end it was Kohli and the umpires who asked the two to just cool down and continue with the game.It all starts yesterday afternoon when Anderson came in from the England side at the presser after the day’s play. He was asked about the game and the way England are playing. Also there was a question posted about the Indian captain Virat Kohli.

Now as per Anderson he felt that pitches in India hides the flaws Kohli has in his batting. He said that back in the last series these two teams played in England, Kohli was consistently getting out caught behind or in the slips. Anderson said that the pitches and conditions do matter. Here in India the wickets are spinning ones and hence it is always difficult for the tourists to adjust to such tracks. But as Kohli is a good player of spin bowling he gets away with it.

This is the main reason that Kohli is performing exceptionally well in India. Now Anderson do has a point here. In the last tour Kohli made to England he struggled a lot. He was not finding the right form with the bat. The English pacers including Anderson himself exploited his batting weaknesses and India lost the series to England.

Now Indian side was expecting a word of appreciation from Anderson. They did not find any and when they heard the comments about Kohli they got frustrated. Ashwin’s war of words against Anderson today was that frustration coming out.

Kohli is the head of the Indian team and their lead spinner did not like the way Anderson did not appreciate Kohli double ton in the ongoing test match. It was Kohli who intervened and had a chat with Ashwin first and asked him to his bowling mark. He then went to Anderson and asked him to cool down as well. Ashwin did had a few words with the English player standing at the non-striker’s end as well. So this heat is not reducing. There is a struggle going on between both the sides.
